Get rid of all business majors in undergrad with the exception of Finance and replace them with STEM. Business degrees should be earned in grad school only IMO.

  • I’m just not seeing the value in the market place for a BA earned in Mkting, Accounting, Mgmt, etc.

  • Definitely think programs in undergrad could be improved and subsequently produce talent that could ad more value if they implemented a practical element where students actually worked on a startup.

I dont think you need to go that far. It likely just a matter of interweaving the two so that tech folks have business skills and business folks have tech skills. Some do already but not enough.

My alma mater has offered information systems degrees through their business school for decades, and I’m sure it isn’t the only school doing that. I think it’s useful to revisit the utility of certain specialties in an area—not just in business either.

Every discipline can benefit from business and STEM skills, since to some degree they go hand in hand. Its just practical colleges to revamp their programs to take advantage of the various programs.
