Don't have a lot of memories from 1999 super cyclone, only that the loss to life & property was massive. 20 yrs later, after a severe #cyclone like #Fani ,human casualties hv bn minimum.Destruction was inevitable but state admin's effectiveness in minimizing impact is commendable.

Part II (Thread): Demonetisation & GST destroyed more jobs than you could think. The NSSO's report throws a light on this. So, the unemployment rate is measured in two ways in the teport: usual status & current weekly status. https://www.business-standard.com/article/bs/demonetisation-gst-impacted-jobs-more-than-nssos-headline-numbers-suggest-119013101575_1.html …
Niti Aayog V-C Rajiv Kumar said in a presser yday that the past job numbers of NSSO are incomparable. However, he may refer to/ask NSSO to see page no. 84 of the survey report which makes a clear comparison of unemployment with past surveys. Our report:
The rate of joblessness was higher in urban areas (7.8%) than the rural parts (5.3%). Labour force participation rate declined from 39.5% in 2011-12 to 36.9% in 2017-18. So, while more people do not want to be a part of the workforce, those who do want to do not have jobs.
Scoop: Unemployment rate rose to a 45-year high of 6.1%, as per the NSSO's annual household survey of 2017-18 - the first one after demonetisation Youth unemployment at astronomically high levels of 13-27% More people moving out of the workforce. Indians when in Paris: Look at Eiffel Tower. Why can't we build such structures? Indians when in New York: Look at Empire State Building. Why can't we build such structures? Indians when in India: Look at Patel's Statue. Why can't we build a hospital or school instead! (WA)
It’s a false equivalence. Both the Eiffel tower and Empire State Building were built by individuals using private funds. The statue has been built using public money. Here endeth the discussion.
I was there with them when no one was. Now since the rainy days have passed, they are winding up with me just because I could not regularly attend the trial which is taken care of by senior criminal lawyers. I don't blame them. it is the human tendency which travels in genes.
WTF do you even mean by 'travel in the genes' snide remark?🙄😠 And EVEN IF you were unable to travel due to long distances....you couldn't even win the confidence of a family u were fighting for?....how would you have ever won the courts? Not much of a lawyer after all.
