Love your neighbor.
There’s a leader with love on full display in New Zealand. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. “What the world needs now...”
"What is the summon bonum of life? I have an answer, America...I have discovered the highest good. It is love. This principle stands at the center of the cosmos. As John says “God is love.” He who loves is a participant in the being of God. He who hates does not know God.” #MLK
NEWS: Today, seven black students got into Stuyvesant High School, one of the most prestigious public schools in the nation, out of 895 offers. The grim statistics will raise pressure on NY's politicians to confront segregation in elite schools.
“Keep the fires of freedom burning in our hearts, so that no matter what happens, ain’t gonna let nobody turn us around. Because Thou, dear God...Thou has sent us to fight...that democracy might exist here for the whole world.” #MLK
Tragedy in Mozambique. Remember our neighbors there.
"Whites, it must frankly be said, are not putting in a similar mass effort to reeducate themselves out of their racial ignorance. It is an aspect of their sense of superiority that the white people of America believe they have so little to learn." ~MLK #WhiteSupremacy
It did not take #NewZealand long to determine that the loss of 50 lives warranted changes in their gun laws. 2nd amendment or not, that is an indictment on America’s failure to enact legislation banning the purchase of assault rifles.
Loving you today. Believing in the possibility of a more peaceful, just and humane world. Each of us has a part. Let’s get to it!
America's lowest-income renters “are one unexpected financial cost — a sick child, a broken-down car, a missed day at work — away from not being able to pay the rent and facing potential eviction,” said housing advocate Diane Yentel.
We are going to #BuildTheWill to build the Beloved Community. I believe.
“Our hope for creative living in this world house that we have inherited lies in our ability to re-establish the moral ends of our lives in personal character and social justice.” #MLK
Thank you, @jacindaardern. Your love for New Zealand, particularly for Muslims in your nation during this time of mourning, reflects the type of sincere, people-oriented leadership that the world needs to evolve from its current chaotic state. #NewZealandMosqueAttacks
This is New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, grieving with the Muslim community as they mourn the 49 departed, & wearing a hijab in solidarity.❤️ What a powerful example of compassion and leadership. May she & her nation prosper in love & peace.❤️ #NewZealandMosqueAttack
Racism is not mere disagreement. It is dehumanizing and destructive. In its cruel manifestations, it places black children in a school to prison pipeline, finds unarmed black men guilty of their own murders, and separates brown children from their families. It is a vicious evil.

The 50th victim has just died in New Zealand. Many others are still fighting to survive.
White nationalism is a rising, resurgent global threat; a blight against humanity. We cannot ignore it & must call attention to & cease the ways that America cultivates it accross the globe. Let’s focus on how we #BuildTheWill to end #Islamophobia instead of how to build a wall.
“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” ~MLK I’ve decided, too. But I know #love is not “emotional bash.” It is pouring myself out for humanity. It is working for a world that engages every human being with dignity.
