Remembering my dear friends this #PresidentsDay.
Just yesterday, the House Judiciary Committee voted to advance a measure that would require background checks for all gun sales and most gun transfers. Rep. @LucyMcBath, who lost a child to gun violence, cast her vote by saying: "For my son Jordan Davis, I vote aye."
One year after the massacre at Stoneman Douglas, we must not forget the 17 people who lost their lives and the nearly 1,200 young people in the U.S. who have died from gun violence since. We cannot and should not accept this as a regular part of American life.
Not only was Frank Robinson a world-class athlete and baseball mind, he was a trailblazer. The sport would not be what it is today without him. My thoughts are with his loved ones and the entire @MLB family.
For nearly 60 years, John Dingell represented the people of Michigan with honor, integrity & great good humor. There are few major legislative triumphs since 1955 that he didn’t have a key hand in passing. Hillary & I are grateful to have worked with him & called him our friend.
Worth reading. Teachers and principals should weigh in.
Chris Wayne was a good man who we lost far too soon. This piece is a reminder of what made him special and why he will be so deeply missed.
It’s been one of my greatest honors to support the peace process in N. Ireland. The visa decision was highly controversial but critical to jumpstarting the process. Gerry made it clear this would advance peace and I’ll always be grateful he kept his word.

100 years after his birth and nearly 72 years since he broke baseball’s color barrier, Jackie Robinson’s legacy endures—in sports and throughout our communities.
Clinton Center staff & volunteers are participating in a #DayOfAction at the @arfoodbank. We're sorting & packing diapers to be distributed to families affected by the government shutdown. Thx @diaperbankozks, @2SmallToFail & @diapernetwork for your partnership! #LittleRockCares

Looking forward to the second day of @ClintonFdn's San Juan event on post-disaster recovery in the Caribbean. Hope you'll tune in this morning as Hillary hosts a discussion on empowering youth in the region to build back better: http://live.clintonfoundation.org #IdeasIntoAction
Hillary & I spent yesterday visiting with Puerto Ricans who are rebuilding their communities, from innovative farmers, to small-business owners, to ecologists restoring habitats. It's encouraging. We all should redouble our efforts to help the people of Puerto Rico.
