Dear Parliamentarians, You will be debating today on a number of issues and from time to time "implement the result" and "respect democracy" will be said. Since there seems to be some confusion around these terms, I've written this helpful guide.

Wow, looks like NASA's first all women spacewalk has been canceled.

Let's talk about spacesuits, specifically Extravehicular Mobility Units, and being a #ladyastronaut. The EMUs on the ISS were designed more than 40 years ago, with a 15-year shelf life. 11 of the original 18 are still in use. Only 4 are on the ISS. Those are the only EMUs.

Most profound thing I've learned in the past eight years is the difference between behavior and intention. Behavior is what someone is doing, intention is why they're doing it. You judge yourself based on your intention, and everyone else based on their behavior.

Nice interpretation of the fundamental attribution error (HT @jben0)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47691478 … a company I worked for once sent an aircraft to KristiansUnd instead of KristiansAnd ... but Edinburgh instead of Dusseldorf ? Whatever the reason it will undoubtedly have made sense to everyone at the time, understanding why it made sense will be key.

I hadn’t seen this before - @united flight is oversold, so they ask passengers in the app to *bid* for compensation amounts to change flight. 🤔

eBay, but for giving up your seat. I have experienced auctions at the gate in which the amount offered goes up until enough people come forward to be bumped, but this is new to me.

"Every perception, no matter how objective it seems to the witness, is infused with personal beliefs." The Law’s Emotion Problem https://nyti.ms/2mdzhju

Nice article given so many inaccurate beliefs about jurors: “By educating judges, jurors, attorneys, witnesses, police officers & other legal actors about common-sense assumptions that are scientifically unjustified, we could take steps toward a legal system that is fairer”

I’ve signed this petition to revoke A50 and deal with the consequences afterwards - referendum, election, whatever. I have no idea whether these things do any good but after May’s astonishingly irresponsible speech this evening I’ll give anything a go.

Replying to @winglets747

People do (or don't do) things that make sense to them at the time, given their knowledge, experience, and focus of attention at the time. Industry, media and the public must avoid judging the decisions of others with the beauty of hindsight.
