“I want history to remember me ... not as the first black woman to have made a bid for the presidency of the United States, but as a black woman who lived in the 20th century & who dared to be herself. I want to be remembered as a catalyst for change in America.” -Cong. Chisholm
Don't tell the president: Kirstjen Nielsen worried about Russian interference in 2020 before quitting. She was told not to discuss it with her boss. https://nyti.ms/2ZvJDiJ
Let me get this straight...the White House won't secure our elections against foreign hackers because they don't want to hurt @realDonaldTrump's feelings.
They all came down with massive amnesia to twist themselves into pretzels of sycophancy after he was elected. @NikkiHaley called him a tax evader as did @KellyannePolls ; “kook” was @LindseyGrahamSC ‘s assessment ... same with @tedcruz ... we all know he is a criminal.
Fox host accidentally admits that Russian interference cost Democrats the election. (I really hope Trump was watching.) FRANCIS: Democrats "care about Russia now because it cost them an election."
Do NOT let @realDonaldTrump see this. FOX Host tells truth - Russian infiltration & operation is one of the reasons he took the WH.
We are witnessing “contempt of Congress, contempt of law, contempt of the American people...As bad as Nixon was, he wasn’t inviting a hostile foreign power to invade our sovereignty...We have someone engaged in treachery.” - Constitutional Law profesor, Laurence Tribe @tribelaw

This video needs to go viral.
In 1978, Kwame Leo Lillard was one of the young men arrested for interrupting the unveiling of the Nathan Bedford Forrest monument in TN’s Capitol. Black clergy and activists showed up to voice their concerns then and today he shares why it must continue. #RememberFortPillow
other firsts this session (cont.): -escorting public out of committee w/out cause for comfort of Rep who didn’t want accountability - banning ppl from live streaming in committee -Speaker’s Chief of Staff $200 k/ year salary -intentionally refusing to recognize Reps on floor
In the four years I've covered @TNHouseReps, I've never seen a vote held like this where there are votes on the board but it has not become official
That’s because under this new leadership group- this ain’t a democracy. Other firsts this session: -threatening reporters w/ arrest -ordering reporters to stay in “press box” -leadership protecting sexual offender -putting up arbitrary ropes to keep ppl out of public area
