Social media's a great way to keep current but my website provides a direct portal for constituents to contact the #CalgaryHeritage office, access services, and to review my archive of speeches, statements and questions in #Parliament. Visit me online at http://www.bobbenzenmp.ca .
Broken promises, corruption scandals, international gaffes, chaos and controversies - Justin #Trudeau over four long, failure-prone years is definitely not as advertised! Watch and RT this video of my statement today in the House of Commons: https://www.facebook.com/BobBenzen/videos/1373095129497448/ …
The #Conservative vision for prosperity includes a #Canada where energy needs are fueled exclusively by Canadians. A national #EnergyCorridor for pipelines and transmission lines would allow for job-creating projects while minimizing environmental impact.
I hope the committee's display of common sense on Bill C-48 is also adopted by the Senate, and that this punitive, investment-killing legislation gets consigned to the dustbin of history, hopefully alongside the Liberal anti-pipeline bill C-69.
Remember when Justin Trudeau said the budget would balance itself in 2019? #NotAsAdvertised https://twitter.com/globeandmail/status/1076173221957783552 …
This is the year Trudeau promised Canadians their federal budget would be balanced. Runaway Liberal spending has kicked the deficit elimination plan 20 more years down the road. Liberals can't be trusted as stewards of our economy, or, apparently, to keep their word.
Trudeau's #CarbonTax is already making every day life more expensive as increased costs for fuel and heat not only hit Canadians directly, but also get passed on to them in the price of consumer goods. A new Conservative gov't in 2019 will scrap this tax.
A good summary of the threat posed by #C69: "The bill replaces the private-sector with a politically correct, sheltered workplace template where hiring is based on factors other than skills, education or work history...Resource development will stop cold."
From the article: "If world #oil demand is going up anyway, why should Canada cede the market for our most important export to Russia, Iran, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia—countries that don’t care about the environment and have horrendous human rights records?"
I invite constituents to join me and my special guest @MelArnoldMP, Deputy Shadow Minister for Fisheries, for a discussion on the challenges and obstacles facing #pipeline construction in #Canada, and to examine ways to responsibly move forward on these vital #energy corridors.
More amazing innovation emerging from @UCalgary's Schulich School of #Engineering. This same school is also conducting promising research into new reclamation and alternate extraction technologies connected to #Alberta's #oilsands. Excellent work!
Why did the Prime Minister have no problem apologizing to a convicted terrorist but can't bring himself to apologize to Vice-Admiral Norman? #cdnpoli
The documents the Liberals were fighting to keep secret from Vice-Admiral Norman's defence were the very documents that caused his charges to be dropped. This strongly suggests political interference. And Canadians deserve answers
