As you can see, through watching all the matches these clubs played in the group stages, I was able to add some objectivity to the focus that the game often has on "Zone 14." Notice a trend? The more successful the team (group winners in this case), the higher % of centrality.
Messi is too good for words.
Lots of weird decisions by Valverde today. Umtiti definitely should not have played, and why does he have Busquets marking Banega across the pitch? If there’s one player in Barca’s XI you don’t want caught high up, it’s him.
Flamini, pointing the way to the Champions League
Do you think you could defeat in physical combat the most famous person who shares your first name, and who is that person
Carl Sagan. I’d put his a** in a bodybag.
4 - Before Krzysztof Piatek, the last player to have scored in each of his first four top-flight starts with the Rossoneri was Oliver Bierhoff (September-October 1998). Unstoppable. #MilanEmpoli #SerieA
“how’s everything tasting?”
Data is thanks to @sportCIES
The smaller numbers at the side for each league are the minimum passes allowed per 90, just to make it easier to understand the numbers in comparison to the max.
What are the averages for passes allowed in the defensive third per 90 for a specific league? Sorted from the top to bottom, the Ukrainian top flight has the greatest disparity in number of passes allowed, in the Ekstraklasa (Poland) the averages for clubs are the most similar.
gooooob morning. i would like a pancake
If I acted the same way I do in general interactions with people as I do with telemarketers I would be one of the world’s great assholes.
Approx. 97% of a players time on the pitch is spent in off the ball actions. With the growth in importance in tracking data etc. it’s going to be crazy to see the kind of stuff that can be looked at and used in the future.
Do you like passing models? Of course you like passing models. Well, @YAMiAM9 has a passing model for you!
BREAKING: @ChelseaFC banned from signing players for next two transfer windows and fined £400,000 after being found guilty by @FIFAcom of breaching rules about signing minors. #SSN http://skysports.tv/57pu5I

I can’t possible imagine what would have caused this
Neuer used to be a goalkeeping revolutionary. Now he's kinda normal. https://www.footballwhispers.com/blog/manuel-neuer-football-evolution …
This is a great read. The title is *slightly* misleading in the sense that’s it’s not actually a criticism of Neuer; just that playing the way he does is no longer “strange” or as rare as it was. Also, the position has continued to develop upon this style.
Огненная встреча команды #ЗенитФенербахче
Biggest takeaways (taken with a grain of salt considering the opp.) Özil and Iwobi combined 31 times in the final third. It would be dumb to break this up. Guendouzi’s pass selection, while not quite sensational obviously, displays a good ability to spread play both sides.
Iwobi on the left + Özil dovetail each other wonderfully.
At Emirates Stadium. #afc: Cech, Lichtsteiner, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Guendouzi, Xhaka; Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Iwobi; Aubameyang.
