The same could be said of the Majority of mass shooters. Most had criminal records, some even threatened to shoot up a school. Many had severe diagnosed mental disorders, yet were still able to buy guns. Wake Up America!

I agree, they shouldn’t have been able to purchase firearms. They had criminal backgrounds or were mentally unstable, both of which should be (and I believe is already) disqualifying. But that’s more an issue of reporting than of gun control.

It isn’t. Many purchase from black market sellers so as not to be traced.

I’m not saying that in the case of the Broward County shooter there weren’t red flags. There were. And I agree that severe mental health issues should be a disqualifying characteristic to purchasing a gun. What I am saying is not every shooter displays these obvious red flags.

@tapster1 if the coach (I understand trained security) had been allowed to protect himself and the kids, it would have been over before it started. Instead all he could do was throw his body at the shooter. A hero without his gun.
