.@presssec Sarah Sanders tells Fox News’ Chris Wallace “frankly, Chris, I don’t think Congress — particularly not this group of congressmen and women — are smart enough to look through the thousands of pages that I would assume that President Trump’s taxes will be.”

I'd be happy to help

The great @nytimes lawyer @davidmmccraw on thinking like a libel lawyer. Important point for all of us: Consider the possible counter-narratives. https://nyti.ms/2F0qCwA

I know I'm not alone on this -- I simply don't feel right until @davidmccraw has weighed in on my story. Best safety net in the business.

"We found bandaged commandos wandering the streets in apparent despair, and officials discussing how they could flee an area almost entirely surrounded by the Taliban. By the end of the day, we were on the run, too," @rodnordland writes.

In his last Post column before his disappearance, Jamal Khashoggi wrote about the Arab world’s need for a free press. Read it here.

Damn, I wish she was on my team. The amazing Sarah Stillman writes with devastating precision about Helen, the 5 year old who was detained at the border and persuaded to sign away her rights.

I think White House coverage would be better if reporters were willing to violate off-record agreements in egregious circumstances, such as when the President of the United States disparages the reporters by claiming they made the source up. https://twitter.com/yashar/status/1000404335568785408 …

My view: If we agree not to name a White House official for purposes of a background briefing and then the president denies the briefing ever happened, the deal is off and we name the official.
