I'm tired of people (white folks, but also South Asians and others) mispronouncing my name when they introduce me at public events. If you don't know, please ask! And to help you remember, here's a helpful guide: https://www.youtube.com/embed/hgpNla8AkIQ?start=68 …
Remember when this woman *went to jail* because she used her dad’s address to get her kids into a better school district?

Last night of The Future - the absolute most fun I’ve ever had in the classroom. Grateful for this smart and creative crew of time travellers. I miss them already! If we really did have a dept time machine, I’d go back and do it all again 👽🧟♂️💫🚀🛸 @smuhalifax @SMU_Rels
By MILES the longest thing I've ever written, and not even intended to be. A classic case of forgetting the depths when you spot the iceberg. (And I still understand just a sliver of this place. What I do is thanks only to the generosity of people there.)
Please subscribe to Shuri if you can afford it. Give it as a gift. People have to buy the series otherwise the series gets cancelled.

And maybe it’s just me but I tend to think the most effective way to show respect for scholars is not by my personal interactions with them but by citing their intellectual labor, or at the least recognizing it publicly if somehow I lost control over the citations
