Low ILUC palm oil. Four very expensive words that became fact due to heavy investments by growers to make #PalmOil sustainable.

The majority of palm oil imported into the EU (51%) is currently subsidised to make ‘green fuel’. Europe uses around 4 million tonnes of crude palm oil to produce diesel, making drivers the top (albeit unaware) consumers of palm oil in Europe. https://www.transportenvironment.org/press/eu-classifies-palm-oil-diesel-unsustainable-fails-cut-its-subsidised-use-and-associated …
Globiom study 2015 #PalmOil 3x more polluting than diesel because of peat. Author Ecofys, now @NavigantEnergy stated 23MAR2017 Sustainable, No Deforestation No Peat PO most sustainable biofuel. ALL PO for biofuel M-d into EU is @ISCCSystem certified NDPE. #Hoaxed by @Greenpeace

Five years of testing at remote sites across the Arctic tracked the sources of black carbon, a powerful climate pollutant that contributes to global warming and ice melt. The biggest culprit: fossil fuels
From 2000-2014, 123 million hectares of tree cover – roughly the area of France, Germany, and UK combined – were lost in tropical countries. Read more in the in-depth assessment of #Goal2, stopping deforestation due to agricultural commodities: https://bit.ly/2rMDBL4
Soy and cattle doing such immense damage yet get relatively little coverage compared to #PalmOil. Soy forest loss 2x of PO. Soy also currently less committed to sustainable practices too. @RSPO and @MSPO are the way forward and soy has to catch up.
#decolonizesustainability. You heard it here first. Land use change for #palmoil is high only because it was developed much later than other vegoil crops. The same LUC has allowed developing countries to develop without handouts like foreign aid. This is #sustainability.
