Here's more information about today's L service disruption:
LIRR station waiting rooms will remain open around-the-clock through Friday, February 1, resuming normal schedule on Feb. 2.
Water has stopped flowing into the tunnel. Our crews are on site to clear the water and debris and install replacement switch and signal equipment where necessary. We are working hard to restore full service by the afternoon rush.
Full L service was restored to 8th Av around noon after this morning’s water main break — a big thank you to the incredible @NYCTSubway employees who sprang into action to make the emergency repairs quickly, and thank you to customers for your patience and understanding.
Update: Manhattan-bound L trains are now running approximately every 6 minutes, and are continuing to end at 14 St-Union Square. Our crews are clearing debris from the tracks; new stop motors are also being delivered to the affected area and will be installed where needed.
Update: L train service is resuming in both directions between Bedford Av and 14 St-Union Sq. All 8 Av-bound L trains will end at 14 St-Union Sq. Expect extensive delays in L train service in both directions. We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.
