As a federal prosecutor I was taught to pursue obstruction of justice cases with zeal because if obstruction goes unchecked our whole justice system is at risk. If we let the POTUS get away with obstruction, what message do we send to criminals, prosecutors & juries?

Trump claims Dems have no need to subpoena his tax returns because he *assumes* Mueller's team already looked at them: "They checked my taxes, they checked my financials -- I assume."

Trump using Muller report now as a shield basically saying “Muller looked at everything & if he didn’t say anything was wrong, I’m clear.” It’s like going to the eye doctor & saying “doctor didn’t say anything was wrong with my heart so it must be good.” 🙄

NEW: Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey gently let the president know that his "lost" followers are bots https://trib.al/zpJMhpF

How about Trump resigns if we all agree to follow him on twitter? He cares more about that than the presidency.

It's not going to, and shouldn't, be one act that leads to impeachment. The focus should be the sometimes orchestrated/sometimes improvised campaign of deceit and blunt abuse of power that Trump has conducted for over two years. The whole is far greater than the sum of its parts.

Yes this is how prosecutors approach any case. It’s about a pattern- of systematic manipulation of our system and abuse of power. That’s why the campaign finance scheme (which his own DOJ endorsed) should be part of it. Helped get him elected and continued in the Oval Office.

Dems are not making one of their best arguments:

That by obstructing the probe, Trump impeded the inquiry into not just his conduct, but also into the Russian attack on our political system.

Here's scholar Philip Bobbit on why this might be impeachable:

SDNY campaign finance case are distinguishable from Mueller’s facts such that we shouldn’t rule it out on those grounds especially after Trump not Pres.

I agree with the last point here - Barr would need to approve indictments from SDNY against Trump or Trump Jr. which seems impossible (& the fact that we know that means he should recuse or resign but won’t). But, I think the legal issues of a potential

I’ve been making the same point as @walterdellinger does here: Mueller’s report reveals a president who is AWOL as Commander in Chief. If he were a General, he’d be court martialed. As POTUS, he should face impeachment proceedings.
