“I have a duty to speak the truth as I see it and share not just my triumphs, not just the things that felt good, but the pain, the intense, often unmitigated pain. It is important to share how I know survival is survival and not just a walk throught the rain.” Audre Lorde ✊🏾
#ChangeIsNeeded Kenya to rule on gay rights as African neighbours look on. Decision has implications for rest of continent, where LGBT people face widespread discrimination
I’ve been so lucky to have spent the week with this inspiring group of young people on our @stonewalluk BAME/PoC LGBTQ+ campaigning programme. My mind is blown, my heart is bursting and my passion for empowering young people is stronger than ever. 👍🏼👍🏽👍🏾👍🏿🏳️🌈
I’ve spent the last three days facilitating a @stonewalluk campaigning programme for BAME/PoC LGBT youth. A group of incredible, inspirational and empowered young people who are going to change the world. This work is SO important - thank you @comicrelief for making it possible.
My trade union Equity is 90 this year and I’m proud to be part of its fight for better, fairer and more equal pay and conditions, safe workplaces and for investment in the arts. #MyCardMyUnion #ProudtobeEquity

Tomorrow's court ruling could decriminalise gay sex in Kenya. Yes, a positive outcome is likely to be appealed—but these activists won't give up. #Repeal162 would have a seismic influence in striking down similar British colonial laws across east Africa 🏳️🌈
Section 162 of Kenya's penal code is a British colonial law, imposed in 1930, that criminalizes consensual same~sex adult relationships. This Friday, February 22nd, after 89 years of colonial homophobia, the High Court delivers its ruling on #Repeal162. https://www.nation.co.ke/oped/opinion/Rid-Kenya-of-inhumane--colonial-laws/440808-4899436-jox2ij/index.html …
Crossing everything that we hear good news in Kenya on Friday. A date has also been set for a similar hearing in Botswana in March. Progress is slow, but we're slowly building a world where LGBT+ are equal under the law, no matter their country of birth.
