Monday is a great day to get out and enjoy the nice conditions before another storm arrives on Tuesday. Clouds will increase on Tuesday as the next weather system arrives in the Sierra and western Nevada. By midweek, the chance for valley rain and mountain snow increases.

I can't even imagine the #Blizzard conditions that must have occurred to allow #snow to plaster on trees like this! Pictures taken on Mar 16, 2019 at around 10000 ft elevation near Mt Rose on the #Tahoe Rim Trail. Gorgeous day for snowshoeing! @NWSReno @ReedTimmerAccu #CAwx #Nvwx

It sure has been an active winter in the Sierra! If you ever needed proof that you don't want to be at 10,000' during a winter storm, here it is 😬❄️

Just because the weather is quiet, doesn't mean we can't still get cool phenomena! If you looked towards Peavine just before sunset, you might have caught a sun dog (the rainbow-like feature on the right). Here it is as seen from our office. To learn more: https://bit.ly/2nn92cV

Sunny skies in the Sierra and it will remain that way through the weekend and into next week, per @NWSSacramento @NWSReno. Our snowfighters get a needed break!

Rain, snow and falling temperatures could lead to icy streets tonight and Wednesday AM.

Enjoy the blue sky while it lasts this morning! A fast moving cold front will bring gusty northwest winds and a brief period of snow showers this afternoon/evening. Any snow that falls after sunset today could bring slick conditions. Drier/Warmer conditions return tomorrow. #NVWx

Here are the 24 hr snowfall totals. Snow showers will continue today with light accumulations. Another system will bring more snow to the area on Tuesday. Sick of the wintry weather? The rest of the week, after Tuesday, appears dry with gradually warming temperatures.

Snow showers are expected in the Sierra/W NV Sat & Sun. Confidence is lower than average on exact snow totals due to any bands setting up & hanging out for a while. Either way, expect accumulating snow overnight tonight-early Sun AM with slick road conditions #NVwx #CAwx
