Playing in MLB is hard enough with nothing weighing on you. In 1947, Jackie Robinson faced maybe the worst psychological abuse of any athlete ever, day in & day out. He still hit .297 with an .810 OPS, won Rookie of the Year, 5th in MVP voting. Unbelievable mental strength.

How long is a generation if you want to say "once in a generation talent"? In other words, list out the "generationals" born between 1931 (Mays/Mantle) and 1991 (Trout). How many players did you list? Do the same between 1948 (Bobby Orr) and 1997 (McDavid). How many players? https://twitter.com/rayferrarotsn/status/1116036923531898880 …
I had this exact same thought regarding this sudden obsession with calling prospects "generational talents." You can't have "generational" prospects coming down the pipe every damn year.
Omg @MLBNetwork noticed this. Khrush hit a HR yesterday and the CLOCK STRUCK 2:47
This Khris Davis numerology is getting scary. First he hits exactly .247 four straight years (https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-most-consistent-hitter-in-baseball-history/ …), and now he is hitting home runs at exactly 2:47pm?!
