Another poll showing that @RoryStewartUK did well last night.
Boris wins – but Rory Stewart gains most support in latest Tory vote https://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2019/06/boris-wins-but-rory-stewart-gains-most-support-in-latest-tory-vote/ …
Surely it will be obvious if Boris has lent votes to other candidates to eliminate @RoryStewartUK. If MPs don’t turn on him as a result surely the conservative membership will? As a non-conservative, Rory is the only candidate I would consider a vote for in future elections
This is an important point: Stewart's Plan A is the policy that has repeatedly been rejected by Parliament. However: I think he's right that the dynamic could change - and not just because he's a more persuasive advocate than May. Usually reliable source tells Guido that Gove and Stewart had breakfast at Gove's house in the last few days...
And as usual your reliable source is wrong - I have never knowingly entered Michael’s House - although we have indeed often eaten together...breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a simple choice here I’m afraid - in message and polling - me or PM Boris.
The most significant moment in yesterday's 'debate' was when Rory Stewart said he would not cut taxes until he could afford them. And was pounced on by the the other candidates. The Tory Party is going to pay a heavy price for junking its commitment to fiscal responsibility.
1. I am in this to win - the real alternative to Boris 2. I speak to MG regularly and hope he would have a big role in any Government. 3. I am the candidate with the most momentum, energy and public appeal. Our members deserve a choice. 4. If it’s not me, it will be PM Boris.
