The Pelicans need to do what is clearly in the best interest of their franchise - and that’s shutting down AD, ASAP. #11889f0b150c" target="_blank">https://www.forbes.com/sites/tommybeer/2019/02/17/new-orleans-should-shut-down-anthony-davis-immediately/#11889f0b150c …

Adam Silver and company would prefer to avoid difficult questions about the competitiveness of the league and how losing is incentivized, but that’s not the Pelicans problem. By sitting Anthony Davis, the Pels would both protect their investment and increase their lottery odds:

Adam Silver like most of our politicians skirt around the issue. In the NBA it seems most teams must go through a 6-10 year stretch of mediocrity or worse before they reap rewards such as a Zion or Lebron.

I’m sorry but this makes no sense. If the fans don’t feel the team can win or at least try, why should they pay for tickets? Also there’s no guarantee the front office can find the next “Anthony Davis”. NBA basketball in New Orleans has already failed once.
