    Wrong. BBC have had games kick off at 7.55pm for years since they bought the rights. It’s so they have time for analysis before the 10 o clock news.

    ...the other markets have existed long before the BBC picked up the rights, not that I'm convinced they have final say on what time football games start and finish. Besides they have multiple channels, absolutely no need to cram programming in before or after anything else

    There were hardly Friday games in the previous TV contract with ITV and Setanta... The new overseas deal was the reason for the staggered kick offs in round 3, but the BBC has had Friday kick offs since 2014. United were away at Derby on a Friday night in 2015 on the BBC.
