Most profound thing I've learned in the past eight years is the difference between behavior and intention. Behavior is what someone is doing, intention is why they're doing it. You judge yourself based on your intention, and everyone else based on their behavior.
It’s a pretty fascinating problem, most potential solutions at this stage take you around in circles. Trying to square demands for Goyal out, Etihad in, and requirement for local promoter is super tough!
Problem is everyone is waiting for the other to blink first and no one is!
To be very clear: getting public sector banks to bail out Jet Airways is neither capitalistic nor neo-liberal. It is just a government bailing out private businessmen with public money. It discriminates against other market players with better business models & management.

"Yes, but I am your mother now and I am your father...we have to change the roles." A heart-breaking story about how the NZ mosque shooting hit a close-knit Bangladeshi community. Sad.
Low-income women in rural areas and depressed urban peripheries are at the sharp end of India’s job crisis. Out of around 10 million jobs lost last year, a stunning 90 percent were held by women, according to @_CMIE https://reut.rs/2FhkyPi
Superb illustration of a society’s empathy. New Zealand's iconic silver fern is redrawn... as Muslims in different stages of prayer. (By Pat Campbell, the Canberra Times).
I just received hilarious satirical email titled "Why doesn't the BJP buy Jet Airways" -- I think the jokes, which are objectively funny, would get me trolled...
“How can I take a stake in an airline which is owned by our adversary?” Qatar Airways CEO Al-Baker said of Jet Airways. Will that change if Etihad exits? Throwback to our story from January.
Proud day for all Indians, how any countries have two national airlines? https://twitter.com/ReutersIndia/status/1107926872422301698 …
While on the surface Jet's future still hangs in the balance with main shareholder Etihad at loggerheads over the final terms of any deal, behind-the-scenes support from the government means there is likely to be a bailout https://reut.rs/2TRCXLV by @aftabahmed00 @aditishahsays
Things are getting worse for Jet Airways. The civil aviation mnistry has called for an emergency meeting, DGCA says only 41 of 119 planes are operating, pilots have threatened to go on strike and angry passengers want a refund!
New Delhi is also backing a proposal for Jet’s founder and Chairman Naresh Goyal to step down if it means saving the airline, another official said. “Saving Jet is not equivalent to saving Goyal,” the official said.
India's finance ministry has in the past year sought regular updates from the banks, led by State Bank of India, on Jet’s financial health. In recent months, the banks have provided weekly updates and also sought government advice, the people added.
It is crucial for India that Jet revives as the fall of its second-largest airline could have “disastrous consequences for the investment climate” in the sector, a top government official told Reuters.
