We refuse to accept that Britain will always be saddled with the same old, tired politics. When politics has failed before, the British people have demanded better. The time has come to renew our politics once again. Join us to #ChangePolitics

British politics is broken, with divided parties incapable of doing their duties as Government or Opposition competently. @heidiallen75 and I appeared on GMB this morning to explain how we want to #ChangePolitics SIGN UP ā”ļø https://www.theindependent.group/Ā

However, no one gave me anything. I never signed on, worked since I was 9 to buy things my parents couldnāt get me. Was raised in a council estate and can relate - however, I donāt believe in hand outs, but do believe in support.

I do actually. I worked with the homeless for 10 years. Had my own house where I would bring in homeless people in, in exchange for them getting back on their two feet. I work in communities and with former drug dealers etc. austerity isnāt good for this country.

Then you shouldāve voted candidate, like your meant too. Party politics is the biggest problem we have in politics. Lots of lazy politicians riding a wave, not by merit but because itās a private members club. If you didnāt vote candidate, then shame on you.
My offer to campaign for re-election of good hard working @BroxtoweCons Councillors has been refused. I wouldnāt have been elected 3x without the help of friends & supporters who were overwhelmingly not #Conservative party members @MoreUnitedUK

The #IndependentGroup was formally launched on Monday, but can they succeed? Former Labour MP @ChukaUmunna says 'there is a hunger for a different kind of politics' http://bit.ly/2GFHzi1Ā

āWe wonāt admit it, because we are afraid of being called racistā @officialbarnesy says people need to have open and honest conversations about unconscious discrimination and racism. #bbcqt

Ole on @PaulPogba: "He's a top player that I've liked ever since I saw him as a kid. He's a World Cup winner, he's a leader in the dressing room and on the pitch, and he wants the ball all the time." #MUFC

Soooooo if 1 university in every region should be free, and everyone in that region should be able to go there, you support tuition free college for all.
I support a free 4 yr college option for everyone. I don't support all colleges being free. Big difference . All colleges being free would be a financial disaster

With weeks to go until the introduction of the 24-hour seven-day-a-week Ultra Low Emission Zone in central London, we've announced plans to help motorists on low incomes, as well as micro-businesses, to scrap their older, more polluting vehicles. #CleanAir https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone/scrappage-scheme?cid=scrappage-schemeĀ ā¦

Finally MPs are standing up for what is right, and not just for what it right for themselves. I fully support this exodus of MPs from both parties. MPs and Councillorās and all politicians are there to serve the people, we need some humble pie, and less wine/beer at the pub.
MP Ian Austin has confirmed he has resigned from the Labour Party, but will not join the newly-formed Independent Group.
BREAKING: Clear @JustineGreening will quit Tories if thereās a No Deal Brexit. Party system falling apart at the seams.

If we cared half as much about the wealth we could generate by investing in human capital as much as we cared about real estate speculation, weād have tuition-free college by now.
For the sake of discussion, what would be a fair in-state, annual tuition that would be low enough that there would be no need for free tuition ? There would still be financial aid for those in need. What should that number be ?

"Many state legislatures have been spending less and less per student on higher education for the past three decades. Bewitched by the ideology of small government (and forced by law to balance their budgets during a period of mounting health-care costs).....
The operative variable is āper studentā. The total amount of money they get has increased. The question is the economic value of each student to the state, not the school. Why not incent students to go to a state school with excess capacity?
