This further underlines the fundamental lack of understanding of Europe in Britain on display everytime HM PM or the HoC convenes. That said, I think it is fair to note that similar sentiments would sweep pretty much every other European polity in case of its #EU #xit.

May said in #PMQs that due diligence was carried out on Seaborne by Deloitte, Mott MacDonald and Slaughter & May. Deloitte: “The standard tests could not be completed on Seaborne given a lack of existing financial information due to it only being incorporated in April 2017.”
Brilliantly, Belgium's De Standaard newspaper's icon for Brexit coverage is John Cleese in Monty Python's Ministry of Silly Walks goose-stepping out of a circle of EU stars.

1/ EU countries are ready to help May drag out the Brexit talks until March 21, when they will try to stitch together a last minute compromise on the backstop at a summit here in Brussels.
