Gunson, why does Bolivia acknowledge Venezuela? They don't get $ from the Vens, or much out of the deal. Because Morales keeping his own opponents at home at bay? Because as long as Venezuela is focus of attention Morales is in the clear?

I think for various reasons. Evo bought the whole 'Bolivarian' package from the outset and has applied it much more successfully so far. But perhaps the biggest single reason is that he follows the Cuban line.
