Two dozen gay Catholic priests shared intimate details of their lives with me over the past two months. The church's crisis over sexuality goes beyond abuse. It goes to the heart of the priesthood, into a closet trapping 1000s of men. This is their story.
#mueller report upshot, per Barr: Russians interfered in the 2016 election. No one from the Trump campaign helped Russia. Mueller wouldn't say if Trump obstructed justice, but his finding of no collusion weighed heavily in Barr's decision to not charge the president with such.
Official WH response from @PressSec: "The findings of the Department of Justice are a total and complete exoneration of the President of the United States.”
Important point: Barr and Rosenstein concluded that there was not sufficient evidence to establish that Trump committed an obstruction of justice offense. That conclusion was based on the evidence from #mueller, not the DOJ opinion that a sitting president cannot be indicted.
BREAKING: Read Barr letter here - https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/democrats.judiciary.house.gov/files/documents/AG%20March%2024%202019%20Letter%20to%20House%20and%20Senate%20Judiciary%20Committees.pdf …
“The Special Counsel states that ‘while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.’”
The Department of Justice “determined not to make a traditional prosecutorial judgement.”
The letter is four pages.
A SPECIAL FRIDAY EPISODE OF THE DAILY: ROBERT MUELLER SUBMITS HIS REPORT: Our guest: national treasure @nytmike, as his day unfolded: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/22/podcasts/the-daily/mueller-report-russia-investigation.html …
Literally was just thinking I wanted this and boom :
#mueller is not recommending any further indictments
NEW: Jt statement from Pelosi & Schumer: "Barr must not give Trump, his lawyers or his staff any ‘sneak preview’ of Mueller's findings or evidence, and the White House must not be allowed to interfere in decisions about what parts of those findings or evidence are made public."
the white house was not given the #mueller report. the white house was only given a read out of the letter to be sent to the hill, with Barr’s chief of staff reading out that letter to Emmet Flood.
A fascinating snapshot of the conclave that elected Pope Francis, from a new book by @gerryorome: https://www.americamagazine.org/faith/2019/03/22/exclusive-inside-election-pope-francis … Of interest to US readers: Boston's Cardinal Sean O'Malley received 10 votes on the first ballot.
Update on Cardinal DiNardo stroke:
“No one can help me because that’s murder. I have to do this on my own, so I have to go at a time when I still feel I know what I’m doing.” https://clsndy.co/assisted-suicide …
What a read.

Yes. She realized she said 26 instead of 25 it when she got off stage.
My favorite Bible verse includes two lessons that guide me every day: There is value in every single human being, and every one of us is called to action. #WarrenTownHall
Warren, a Methodist, is actually talking about Matthew 25 here, not Matthew 26 —>
Pope Francis has rejected the resignation of a French cardinal despite the cardinal’s conviction this month for covering up decades-old allegations of sexual abuse
An unusual approach in pursuing the Catholic Church over sexual abuse and misconduct: the West Virginia attorney general has filed a civil lawsuit claiming the WV diocese and Bishop Bransfield violated the state’s Consumer Credit and Protection Act -->
