PSA: Your students at *Elite College* are not smarter, more capable, more intellectually curious, or more deserving of a full liberal arts education than my community college students.

Idiot leftist doesn’t seem to understand the argument for Reparations is that the American economy was built on slave labor. Yet in 1860, on 11,000 Southerners (.75% of the white population) owned more than 50 slaves, with fewer than 3,000 owning over 100. https://twitter.com/kevinmkruse/status/1108517590903767040 …

In 1860, enslaved people, valued as an asset class, were worth more than all the banks, railroads, and factories in the entire country, put together. Maybe, just maybe, they and their labor were kind of foundational.

Yes, this is a subtweet, and frankly I think I might turn it into a meme.

People need to realize that college is part of the so-called *real world,* especially for our students who are working full or part time, taking care of children or family members, etc. Most college students don’t inhabit a fantasy land in some bubble divorced from reality.

I am so excited to have been provided the opportunity to write about Ted Bundy and race, especially following the release of @netflix’s #ConversationsWithAKiller. I can’t wait to show how unexceptional Bundy’s perceived exceptionality is, through the lens of race.

I’m no fan of the imperialist US war machine, but I find 45’s unprovoked comments about John McCain pretty disgusting.

I'm trying to write a book this year, and I keep finding super useful & recent dissertations by people who are already outta the game. No conferences, not publishing, etc. It's shocking (if unsurprising). Are we looking at a lost generation? A last generation? A few thoughts:

My work substantially relied on dissertations & theses written from 1900-50 by Black scholars locked out of the academy. For some fields these works are the corpus
