Over the last 70yrs Labour Governments have always borrowed less money and repaid more debt than the Conservatives.
EVERYTHING IS A HORRIFIC FUCKING MESS! EVERYTHING! CHRIST, THIS IS JUST TORTUROUS!
Another Labour MP is considering quitting the party due to a culture of 'intolerance' http://po.st/7NS613
Dag nammit! I commented yesterday that this will likely be coordinated so as to drag it out across a week or more & keep it at the top of the news agenda.... Why don't I tweet the predictions I'm correct about?
would love to see the reaction here if, say, a French citizen who could technically claim British citizenship but hadn't until now and had never lived in Britain were sent here by France because they were a jihadi
Really, needs to be more profiling of Derek Hatton, cause I'm mid 30s & I've got barely any idea who he is, other than some universal bogeyman for a reason I'm not quite sure of & apparently a dirty cross party sex fantasy for politically interested women. 🤷♂️ #newsnight
Joan Ryan MP (Enfield North) has left the Labour Party. She will sit with The Independent Group.
Who is the person I least want to see talking about this on TV? Well, Ken Livingstone is busy, so welcome to the crap Skype feed with his headphones in.... Chris Williamson! I'm possibly being unfair, I mean... I haven't heard anything terrible yet. #newsnight
Is it bad to admit that while I've been pretty indifferent to any of the Labour MPs who've sacrificed their political careers through resigning the whip so far, (I mean really... What have they actually done?) I actually think Sarah Wollaston would be a genuine loss to the house.
I'm sure there will be plenty of people reveling in this and call me a spoil sport or whatever, but.... I'm just not sure it's a good thing to have a Home Secretary who unilaterally decides to flout international law like we're some kind of authoritarian banana Republic. 🤷♂️ https://twitter.com/RohitKachrooITV/status/1097928254114140162 …
So... she has automatic access to Bangladeshi citizenship through her mother, though I suspect it's not that simple. Based on Javid's record excuse me being sceptical he's actually established a solid legal position, rather than just taking a 'to hell with the law' approach.
Breaking: ITV News learns Shamima Begum has been deprived of British citizenship

Westminster voting intention: CON: 39% LAB: 34% "A new centrist party opposed to Brexit": 8% LDEM: 6% UKIP: 5% GRN: 2% via @Survation, 18 Feb
I thought the LibDems were the centrist party opposed to a Brexit.... I thought that was literally all they were doing.... So have the 8% suddenly voting for this independent lot been asleep or something?
Shouty yellow vest bloke on #newsnight: "I vote Tory, so how am I far right?" Erm.... 🤔
If you want an example of UK electoral law loopholes: The Independent Group, which looks/swims/quacks a lot like a political party and is asking for donations, is actually a private company. So it isn't subject to electoral law rules requiring them to declare financial backers.
Here to change broken British politics..... 🤔
Museum today had a display about rickets, which is cool because the Tories are bringing it back as part of their nostalgia drive.
Guys, in the Napoleonic wars we gave soldiers a qty of food that would slowly starve them, (if they didn't die of scurvy 1st). But it's OK, they got 2 pints of rum. Now we give them high-tech nutritionally balanced nonsense with no rum... And we wonder why we lost the empire.🤷♂️
"I am very sorry about any offence caused, and I am very upset that I misspoke so badly. It's not what I am" @angelasmithmp apologises for appearing to say "funny tinge" when talking about skin colour on #politicslive Read more: http://bbc.in/2DPvX8k
Sorry... Have I misunderstood? So did they resign because Labour isn't racist enough? Strong first day..... 🤦♂️
Resigning the whip on principle I can respect. Disappointing, but I get it. However, refusing to call by-elections is a bit of an up yours to their constituents. Reminder as much as I disagree with his politics, @DouglasCarswell deserves respect for his honour in that regard.
North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson says Honda's decision to close its Swindon plant is "based on global trends and not Brexit"
Yeah, but if global trends mean you have to close one of your many plants across the globe I'd imagine you'd choose the plant in the country that doesn't have the faintest clue what on earth it's doing. 🤷♂️
Sky Sources say Japanese car manufacturer Honda is preparing to close its Swindon plant with the loss of 3,500 jobs
If you're doing something as momentous as leaving a party, but you can only get 3 mates to come with you would you really call a press conference? It's just humiliating, isn't it? #LabourSplit
If you leave a country to go and join a murderous terror cult then 4yrs later are asking the Government to help you come home saying you were OK with the beheadings probably isn't the most solid strategy.
I only met Michael Dugher once, when I was very new to journalism, at a Westminster drinks reception in the Miliband era. I said Labour should build more council housing, and not just housing association stuff. I remember he replied “We’re not Marxists! We don’t care who owns it”
Christ.... Makes you wonder if he was ever in the right party.
