Trump notes captured by @jabinbotsford: “They want to impeach me over acts that they did” “Dems have no achomlishments [sic]” https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/a-trump-twitter-style-diatribe--live-from-the-rose-garden/2019/05/22/11954982-7cad-11e9-8bb7-0fc796cf2ec0_story.html …
Warton called. They want their diplhoma back.
Here is a 7+ minute video, from ABC, of Trump calling on multiple senior aides to defend him and vouch for his 'calm' demeanor in the infrastructure meeting with Democrats after Nancy Pelosi said that he'd had a temper tantrum.
Tomorrow I'm going to order my staff to line up and tell me what a calm, stable, & very smart person I am. Awww, just kidding. I'm not a #stablegenius & my staff are not sycophants like @KellyannePolls. Also, why is Trump suing to eliminate coverage for pre-existing conditions?
Giving Barr declassification authority for this investigation is a really bad idea. The agencies can cooperate but must retain their legal responsibility for protecting sources. Congressional intelligence committees need to stand in the door on this one. https://nyti.ms/2VQQVL2
"Mr. Barr wanted to know more about what foreign assets the CIA had in Russia in 2016 and what those informants were telling the agency about how President Putin of Russia sought to meddle in the 2016 election." This is...bad. If I were a case officer or an asset, I'd be angry.
Out of strategic calculation or personal obsession, or both, Trump has engaged in the battle with Congress so intensely that he has made it the all-consuming preoccupation of his presidency. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/24/us/politics/trump-impeachment-fight.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share …
It’s simple. The reason why Trump loves to talk about impeachment, and why he blathers on about it more than most Dems, including Pelosi and all his 2020 opponents combined, is that it concerns what matters to him most, more than his job, and more than the country—himself. #NPD
BREAKING / NBC NEWS: Bank CEO Stephen Calk has been indicted by a federal grand jury and charged in connection with a plan to exchange $16 million in loans to Paul Manafort for his help in getting Caulk a Trump administration position.
This is an interesting development. Calk will undoubtedly be more highly motivated to discuss who, exactly, in the WH was involved now that he has been indicted.
Hogan Gidley wasn’t even in the room for the meeting, but still attested to the president’s composure. Larry Kudlow, leaned on a cane as he limped to the front of the room to tell his boss, in front of television cameras, “You were very calm.”
Donald Trump told Special Counsel Robert Mueller that he had “no recollection of learning at the time” about the Trump Tower meeting During his speech in the Rose Garden, Donald Trump admitted that he received a call from Donald Trump Jr before the meeting Trump lied to Mueller
Biden behind it all? This is just crazy stuff. What has become of our republic? So depressing to watch. I have tried hard to keep believing that we Americans are better than this, or can be better than this again. I'm losing faith. https://twitter.com/joshtpm/status/1131712683026341896 …
I never thought much about Lewsndowski, other than he was playing out of his league. With this clip I see why Trump likes him: He’s a really evil-thinking bastard!
I 100% agree with Preet. The whole point of the Special Counsel regulations is to provide public confidence in the administration of justice. I get that Mueller, when he turned in his Report, may have thought public testimony unnecessary, but Barr’s subsequent actions make it so. https://twitter.com/preetbharara/status/1131925756416806912 …
The need for Mueller to testify publicly is clear — as @PreetBharara & @neal_katyal say — but spinning procedural wheels mustn’t slow down the progress of #ImpeachmentInquiryNow with witnesses like Felix Sater, Don McGahn, Annie Donaldson & Hope Hicks. Don’t lose momentum!
Kudos to @MalcolmNance for continuing to sound the alarm each day. I don't know how he keeps up his energy. I am so mentally/physically/emotionally exhausted with trying to educate Americans on the immediate threats to our democracy, it takes all I have to get out of bed.
The national situation is on fire because Mueller pulled his punches. Trump feels like he is freely empowered to act as a dictator. We have to stick together & focus to #SaveDemocracy by making a massive wave in 2020.
You can’t hack paper. That's why I cosponsored @RonWyden's bill that requires paper ballots in our national elections. We need a paper trail. RT if you agree.
When you look at the brazen, smug behavior of Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Sarah Sanders, and trump, lying RIGHT to our faces, you get the feeling that the FIX IS IN with those voting machines. Paper ballots would wipe those smug faces RIGHT into oblivion. #PaperBallotsNow
I don’t know why the Radical Left Democrats want Bob Mueller to testify when he just issued a 40 Million Dollar Report that states, loud & clear & for all to hear, No Collusion and No Obstruction (how do you Obstruct a NO crime?) Dems are just looking for trouble and a Do-Over!
For an innocent man, he sure seems unhinged. The real question is: why doesn’t Donald Trump want Mueller to testify, if he cleared him of any wrong-doing? Hint: Mueller didn’t clear him. Barr whitewashed and undermined the report findings at every turn.
