Remember four years ago when a million Republicans ran for President and a lot of them were acceptable to a lot of GOP voters, but several candidates crowded each "lane" of the party, and the one who succeeded in keeping the attention of the media and the voters actually won?

Very good warning. Danger here.

Excellent news: @carolrosenberg, THE walking encyclopedia of all things Gitmo, is coming to the NYT. We first met at Gitmo after 9/11. I eventually left, she’s been there ever since.

The grave political miscalculation re: Amazon was the singular, obsessive focus on jobs. NYC is not the Rust Belt; it has added tens of thousands of tech jobs in past few years. The crisis is housing. HQ2 wouldn’t have solved that and in fact would have exacerbated

AND, to paraphrase Justin Trudeau when asked why he prioritized diversity in the cabinet: it’s 2019, people. Come on. Let’s move forward.

The rumors had been out there for years: A private Facebook group that included many up-and-coming male journalists was behind waves of online insults and harassment aimed at women in the business. Some of the men have now apologized.

How high did @KamalaHarris get while smoking weed in college? High enough to claim she listened to Tupac and @SnoopDogg as a student, though their debuts came after she graduated college ('86) and law school ('89). As with her former position on legalization, she's scamming

This is going to be the problem with her all-things-to-all-people approach. (See “Can Kamala Harris Square the Circle?”)

In debate over prison crowding, #Kamala Harris “stayed above the fray, as she would on a range of issues, seeing herself less as a decision maker than as a lawyer serving a client.” via @kzernike
