Here's what we know so far about the Notre Dame fire: — The fire alarm went off around 6:30 p.m. in Paris — Part of the historic church's spire collapsed — The fire's cause is unknown and there was no immediate indication that anyone had been hurt
That 'roof structure' supports the roofing only, bears on stone vaulting. The whole thing can burn away and the building itself be fine (of course you don't want the fire to damage the vaults). The spire was late 19th century, and I would suspect the same for most of the wood.
The transept wood structure (or forest as we call it) and the spire were mostly from the XIXth century, with some reused parts being more ancient. The rest of the nave roof was from around 1220 and is now gone. So were the "roses" (circular stain glasses).
Be careful of your words. Unless you climbed out from under a turnip bush, you best not decide if God is real or not. God is REAL whether people believe or not. He is Love personified. Man creates misery ,and expects a God he denies, to rectify the situation. HE IS REAL!!!
