Congratulations to @DavidBarstow, @SusanneCraig and @RussBuettner who won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in explanatory reporting for their forensic review of President Trump’s family finances. Read their investigation here:
This was well deserved! This kind of reporting is truly world class! Not only was the investigative research stellar, but also they also explained the complex narrative behind decades of knot-tying financial statements in a way ordinary people could easily understand.
Yeah, but if you had bothered to do this kind of reporting on Drumpf in the 1990's many the headlines now would be about him being released from prison after serving lengthy convictions for tax evasion and sexual assault instead.
Replying to @DebMeadows3
You should begin by defining these words. They clearly don't mean what you think they do. Begin with "treason." You will be surprised. Did you know that all politics are "identity politics?" Yes, even "white working class" and "top 1%." Happy studying. Be well.
And yes, as previously correctly stated, Trump's sister just retired from the federal bench rather than explain her family tax schemes in an ethical investigation. What would you be saying if Hillary or Obama refused to release their taxes? Oh, the blatant hypocrisy...
The IRS is more likely to audit/harass low/medium income people for minor errors than corporations/rich people for hiding millions. It’s a deeply broken agency whose enforcement power has been crippled by GOP lawmakers for decades to protect rich tax evaders like Trump. #TaxDay
