I wrote this really quickly about my personal mission now that I'm a freelancer and how I aim to approach consulting. Mostly to hold my future self to account and make sure I do business the way I've always wished others would do business!

I've recently been contacted by multiple young ppl asking for my advice around not going to university so I've decided to run a webchat on the topic due to time constraints. If you know someone who'd benefit from this chat pls encourage them to sign up:

I ran a remote agile conference yesterday and it was great fun. Here’s some more about it: https://emilywebber.co.uk/agile-in-the-ether-the-first-remote-conference/ … thanks @apaipi @abisola @tessacooper5 @IanAmes @stephenwalker78 and everyone who came along #AgileInTheEther

Great talk from @abisola to close @agileintheether - highlighted the importance of listening to minority voices when it comes to transformation projects and making space for people to speak about frustrations. Also I had no idea that only 16% of digital transformations succeed!

Thanks @ewebber for organising the #AgileInTheEther conference and to @apaipi @tessacooper5 and @abisola for the fantastic talks. We were reflecting at the end how a remote conference fet more personal as everyone feels face to face. Really good 👏👏👏👏👏

2. You need to attach things to people's existing knowledge if you want it to quickly embed in their memory. Avoid using anecdotes that people are unfamiliar with as knowledge won't always sink in. I always feel this way when people use football anecdotes in the workplace!

1. If you get people to experience an emotion at the same time it will drill down into their brain more - that's why humour is so important in learning because it generates the hormones relating to happines

Amazing talk from @apaipi at @agileintheether - so many things about how people learn that will help me both in my day to day work but also with my toddler! Fave learnings:

Supplies ready for @agileintheether conference. I feel like I need to get some @collab_future mugs printed though so I'm not just constantly drinking from ex-employer branded mugs! 😂

Today I’m running my first remote conference. If all goes well, then it won’t be my last #agileintheether

Very excited to be speaking at this today. As a pregnant lady who lives in Nottingham & has a toddler it's quite hard for me to speak at or go to conferences these days so I was delighted at the idea of a remote conference!♥️

In other, more exciting news... We're currently interviewing for the @galdemzine internship and I would love to know if there are other organisations looking for interns (paid) over the next few months? We have had over 220 apps for 2 places... So many brilliant young ppl exist!

This will be my last workshop before baby number 2 arrives! I may be at the point of demonstrating how to effectively facilitate a room from a seat at this stage in my pregnancy 😃

#Provoke15 has left me optimistic for our city, w important discussions on mental health, inst. racism, postcode discrimination + police reform. Fearless Youth spoke abt their youth-led project to end knife crime through safe spaces to channel anger into music, drama + sport 🙌🏾

It's being able to participate in thoughtful, inspiring and supportive community discussions like this that make me pretty certain/hopeful Nottingham is going to be my home for the rest of my life. Love this city ♥️

We've recently been running "Collaborate for inclusion" programmes for orgs using agile methodologies. You can find out more here @tessacooper5/an-agile-approach-to-diversity-inclusion-in-the-workplace-3ed0032652a5" target="_blank">https://medium.com/@tessacooper5/an-agile-approach-to-diversity-inclusion-in-the-workplace-3ed0032652a5 …

So many digital teams invest weeks on end trialling different buttons to improve newsletter sign ups by a fractional amount & yet they wont invest the same effort into diversity & inclusion - something so vital for business success. Here's how I'm trying to change that mindset

We are so lucky to have Fearless Youth as our provocateurs on Monday 13th. If we are to make our city a place where children & young people thrive, we need to listen to them. Please share - everyone is welcome.
