Visit of Headquarters of RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) in Nagpur and long meeting with its Sarsanghchalak (Chief) Dr Mohan Bhagwat. Founded 1925, it is world’s largest voluntary organization - though not uncontroversialy perceived throughout its history...
Seriously though, I know all diplomats now have to suck up to our gracious rulers, but I thought for obvious reasons @GermanyDiplo at least would draw the line at flattering an organisation that emerged from admiration of the Nazis
After a ten year search, the so-called “mastermind” of the Mumbai Terror attacks has been arrested in Pakistan. Great pressure has been exerted over the last two years to find him!
So who sold this LEMON to supposedly the most powerful man in the world? Unless some ‘nephew’ got hold of his handle too...
WARNING: Interest payments on Govt. borrowings are now growing at a faster rate than the GDP itself. That is spelled as DEBT TRAP.
A few thoughts on this brilliant article by @kaul_vivek. 1/ As @sonaliranade mentioned earlier today, India has almost entered a debt trap. https://twitter.com/sonaliranade/status/1151356433843281920 … The govt will probably borrow to pay off debts. Rather interests on debts, not even debts. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-48960315 …
Govt. borrowings this fiscal will be INR 7.10 lac crores against which interest payments on past debt will be INR 6.60 lac crores. Of the borrowed money of INR 7.10 Lac crores a mere 0.50 lac crores or 7% represents fresh accretion to Govt. funds. By next year it will be 0.
The first big known biometric deduplication breach was reported in 2017. It has been 2 years and @UIDAI still can't shut it down. It's strange that majority of the Aadhaar enrolment slips generated in India are after 6 pm when both the post offices and banks are closed in India and aadhaar machines deposited with the authorities. Ever wondered @dintya15 @rsprasad how these operators are enrolling people ?
Tonnes of wheat rotting in rain in Haryana https://www.moneylife.in/article/tonnes-of-wheat-rotting-in-rain-in-haryana/57692.html … @suchetadalal @Moneylifers @yogtoday
this happens every years - year after year!! Building modern godowns does not require genius -- easier than a bullet train and far easier than TALL statues. FCI is central PSU, so trolls dont whine about it not being central responsibility! Check if party people are on board!
Low inflation’s often a good thing. But like blood pressure, it may not always be a sign of health if it keeps falling. Moderately high inflation signals growing consumption & spurs investment. Some pump-priming via lower interest rates & measures to increase consumption may help https://twitter.com/bloombergquint/status/1150658158626344960 …
Pump-priming withlow interest & monetary easing will surely help. But won’t fire-start a tired economy at such high tax rates: personal, corporate & indirect/Excise-GST..we are returning to the tax-and-spend state of the old...
