Do we even know if they are law enforcement? This is a no-go in America. Who are these guys? report to? their authority to enforce anything is? what happens if they injure or kill someone? If I'm a citizen, am I required to do anything these people say? https://t.co/zs74KlpwRC

This is a good point. Given the predilection for some dudes to play-act as heavily armed enforcers, how are people supposed to know whether they have any authority? https://t.co/wwBOBG8koL

Back outside the White House. Today the perimeter has been pushed back another half block. Federal law enforcement of some kind, but they won’t identify themselves, and all insignias and name plates have been removed. https://t.co/q5dmdMgkLV

The removal of names is the removal of accountability. Speaks to bad intentions- the authoritarian idea that repression won’t have consequences because has become official policy. https://t.co/sGF4Vrt3p9

For reference, in training, it's why you are trained to say "FBI! FBI! FBI!" before giving commands.

Also, you do't need to find a federal law or a court case for this: It's a part of what *LEOS* rely on to show demonstrate the legal justification to use force or willing noncompliance -- that the person KNEW you were LEO. They are opening themselves up to legal liability.

Turns out if it's not really even a thing, then it's probably not instigating the riots. "The FBI Finds ‘No Intel Indicating Antifa Involvement’ in Sunday’s Violence" https://t.co/fakah1nLBi

Law enforcement has an obligation to identify themselves when they are acting in an enforcement (as opposed to, say, an undercover) capacity -- and especially when they are prepared to use the threat of force against civilians. This is outrageous. https://t.co/afZqnIRXjI

0/20 The next few months will determine the future of our republic. Here are some principles for the preservation of freedom I wrote nearly four years ago, when all of this was beginning. I share them again now in admiration of Americans who protest for justice and work for truth

NEW - President Trump originally tried to register to vote in Florida using a "legal residence" address that was not even in the state of Florida. https://t.co/YpOfKnmRBK

The voter fraud is coming from inside the house. https://t.co/eRKI1qR1tB

If FBI is disputing Barr’s statement that Antifa was behind protests, then Congress should demand answers from Barr and Wray to understand the threat and see whether Barr is abusing his position to advance Trump’s political agenda. https://t.co/IAawFwSpy5

So what's the over/under on when Esper gets fired?

He should beat Trump to it, tell the truth, condemn how Trump is using the military, and then resign. https://t.co/nKDzUzBNAd

So what's the over/under on when Esper gets fired?

If DC Republicans had parsed the Mueller Report with even 3% of the attention and care and concern and dare I say creativity that they're now parsing the Horowitz Report, Donald Trump would currently be playing Angry Birds in a Mar-a-Lago bungalow with a pretrial ankle monitor on

This double standard hurts Americans and it hurts the global order — we now risk being laughed out of the room whenever our team tries to promote democratic freedoms and civil liberties abroad. https://t.co/Fof9f1QtfB @thedailybeast @thedailybeast

Iowa Steve King lost. I am the last Steve King standing. (Takes a bow.)

At least twice in the past week, senior Trump administration officials in the Defense Department directed service chiefs to keep quiet on George Floyd's death, even though some expressed an interest in responding to a painful moment in the nation. https://t.co/bN8S6UJal9

“The president is a coward, so crippled by the fear of appearing weak that he screams for blood from the safety of his darkened White House, emerging only to gas peaceful protesters and clergymen in an attempt to look strong.” https://t.co/G1DLYkoDYJ

NEW: Defense Sec. Esper: "I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act." “The option to use active-duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort and only in the most ... dire of situations. We are not in one of those situations now.” https://t.co/GcMBjs73rI

Another way to understand the deployment of all those slouchy looking riot police around DC: the military, the state National Guards, the DC police have all found ways to evade Trump's summons. Only Bill Barr's DoJ force answered the call https://t.co/Zx7238MxWG

The FBI Finds ‘No Intel Indicating Antifa Involvement’ in Sunday’s Violence #antifa https://t.co/mY5RRan6Kf

Once AGAIN, AG Barr misrepresented the findings of *his own investigators* and worse -- created the pretext on which Trump justified his use of the military against Americans. Congress: *defund DOJ until you have answers *find out why DEA, not FBI, is lead agency *impeach Barr https://t.co/ePtW93anJe
