Been in Casualty @NHSGGC with my mum for 5hrs getting tests for chest pain. The only person to say hello and offer their name to mum in all that time was the doctor. Also the only person to acknowledge me and ask who I was #invisable #hellomynameis @PersonCntrdSco @WMTYScot
Disappointing especially given how long we've been working hard at the leading edge of #personcentred care. Was an outpatient today at @NHSTayside kind doctor introduced herself and shook hands 😊 Phlebotomist was lovely - very polite/friendly but didn't introduce herself 🙄
Transformation isn't typically top-down or bottom-up but side-to-side. You won't get everyone on board by big launches or cascade communication. You have to start with the people who are already excited about the possibilities for change: https://www.digitaltonto.com/2019/true-transformation-isnt-top-down-or-bottom-up-but-side-to-side/ … By @Digitaltonto

A useful graphic for strategising & action planning. Which of these 4 horizons does your proposed action fall in? When you're seeking to make change happen, how can you enable action in multiple horizons? Are you managing the tension between short & longer term? Thanks @ZoeLord1
#publichealth #reform #PHScotland @phil_couser @PrMRSB We need to value leadership across all (not just the first 2 or 3) horizons especially when main efforts will be on establishing the new public body and building new alliances and relationships across the wider system.

Does #publichealth have a language problem? @andykturner argues that overuse of jargon is making it difficult to sell the importance of public health to the people it needs to influence.
