This will ESPECIALLY be fun next year when VCFSE returns, as it will most CERTAINLY be one of the machines I take to that convention year after year for people to appreciate. That's my end goal for this machine. I want to bring this machine to conventions for everyone to enjoy

After that it's down to getting the remaining 3 Z2 cards, and then from there it's just more software and learning for me. This machine has been a ride for the past few years, but it might FINALLY be time to actually start using it for what it was intended for.

I also want to get some additional memory simms for the accelerator to bring it up to 16MB of ram total. This would be challenging if it were not for @TubeTimeUS, who has made BRAND NEW memory simms for these accelerators, so I'll have to investigate how to purchase those

So on that front getting a mouse will probably be a bit of a process. Tomorrow though I do want to continue what I did today and load software onto the machine(s?), and further bolster the machine up to make the most of the hardware I have at the moment

So my plans are to open the computer up again to fix the CMOS battery, and to enable the serial port on the hard disk controller. The hardest part about this will be getting a mouse. I have mice at the university, but it may be weeks or months before I'm able to get back there

But wait I do want to talk briefly about what I want for this computer in the near-ish future! The big issue I have right now is the lack of a mouse, and the bridgeboard loses CMOS every time the computer is off because it doesn't have a CMOS battery ATM

And with that, I am done for the night. Windows 3.1 and Workbench 2.1 operating simultaneously in perfect harmony. See y'all tomorrow https://t.co/F8o7s7t3Mi

Thought yall needed to hear this lovely sound https://t.co/Dlbc0d0vz0

Sorry if I'm posting about this way too much but goddamn this is so cool. The bridgeboard and Amiga can be COMPLETELY autonomous from each other without ANY performance impact on either. It's awesome to FINALLY start seeing this machine come together after nearly 3 years. https://t.co/M6FiuPZTc0

That being said the CPU performance loss on the BB is nonexistent, which is mindblowing to me considering what it's doing

AHA! @ThePiloseOne and a few others mentioned waitstates in memory being a potential reason for my CPU being CHAD, and the bios actually had a setting for it! On 0 it is in chad mode (right), but on 1 it drops to what it should be! (left) Neat! https://t.co/ICwsqk2HZP

This does mean that I can start validating and copying games now as WHDLoad wouldn't run on OS 1.3

This is another big step! The bridgeboard is now working under OS 2.1, which means that I no longer have to try and be sure that games and whatnot will run under workbench 1.3! It can truly become the secondary OS it was always meant to be now! https://t.co/OVQiQHDKOE

BTW yes this does mean that if I put this onto my Amiga it would say "starting 386 bridgeboard" every single time I started the computer, just as the one I bought recently does, but I find it annoying so I'm not putting it on

Ah yes the wonders of late 80s speech synthesis. Intentionally misspelling words so that they sound correct when synthesized https://t.co/xn6gDwLZTl

Ughhhhhhh there's a lot of games that I want to transfer to the Amiga's bridgeboard but it only has a floppy driveeeeeeee. Sneakernet time. The CF card on the Amiga has spoiled me

Hey everyone! Just a reminder that I have a Ko-Fi and a Redbubble Store! If you like what I do, maybe consider throwing a couple dollars my way! there's no expectation or obligation to do so whatsoever! Links can be found at my website below! ⬇️

You could have your sleek and small computer set up, and then have all of your ISA cards in a separate box hidden in another part of your desk, or wherever. Laptops had that with their massive docking stations, so I genuinely wonder WHY it didn't carry to desktops
