To be nonpartisan in oppressive situations is the theology of the Antichrist. That includes people who are unwilling to choose sides, or anyone who causes a delay in ending oppression because God is always one-sided, He is never color-blind and He always acts for the oppressed.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ IS the liberation of all oppressed people from oppressive forces.. The enemy of the church of the body of Christ is White Supremacy. We must defeat it as a body and remove the spiritual wickedness and dark principalities of hierarchy in the culture.

I’m so glad I NEVER spent money on this place! Fuck you #ninisdeli paint that pink wall black #chicago! (Noble & Ohio ) west loop neighborhood ! https://t.co/SYqMpOtbsl

Ay Ion think anybody should paint on these goofies. But to my christian folk out there. DO NOT SHOP WITH THESE FOLKS. The love of Jesus Christ means black lives matter. Jesus is about the poor and afflicted. Please read some James Cone and help #EndWhiteEvangelism in the church https://t.co/IayEHTrilg

Unless you spent yo money there. Then u have every right to be mad as hell and let every body know not to give them another scent. Also im coppin the new Doe merch when it drop. #antiracism #EndWhiteEvangelism

whose bright idea was it ever that lawsuits won against police departments were paid out from taxpayers and not PD budgets or cop pensions?

Y’all do understand that sit ins were illegal. Sitting at the front of the bus was illegal. Running away as a slave or helping slaves runaway was a crime. Just because something is illegal doesn’t mean it’s not the right thing to do.

“I wanted to say the right thing. I realised the only wrong thing to say is to say nothing. Twice in the book of Acts, the apostolic preachers say that Jesus was “hanged on a tree,” and Paul takes the old law that says anyone hanging on a tree is cursed to make the point that Jesus bore the curse for us. But it never crossed our minds that Jesus was like “strange fruit”

These words are from an article in Block Island Times by Steve Hollaway and quotes the Black Theologist Dr. James Cone. Heres the full read: https://t.co/f11lWXfOvO

Both Jesus and blacks were publicly humiliated, subjected to the utmost indignity and cruelty. They were stripped, in order to be deprived of dignity, then paraded, mocked and whipped, derided and spat upon, tortured for hours in the presence of crowds for popular entertainment.

“Both the cross and the lynching tree were symbols of terror, instruments of torture and execution, reserved primarily for slaves, criminals, and insurrectionists—the lowest of the low in society.”

Once you juxtapose those two images in your mind—once you see the man hanging on the old rugged cross next to a man hanging from a regular tree for everyone to gawk at—it’s hard not to see lynchings as 19th and 20th century crucifixions.

“But second, I think it is shocking to hear that Jesus was lynched because it makes you wonder why such an obvious way to describe what happened to Jesus has never been used in American churches.”

“To hear that word applied to Jesus is shocking, first because the cross has been sanitized in our imagination and turned into a religious symbol. We don’t often think of it as an act of mob violence supported by government and religious authorities.“
