My grade school history teacher asked us what we would have done if we’d been alive during the rise of a dangerous dictator. Would we cower? Would we fight? It’s time for all of us to become the heroes we hope we would have been back then. SEND HER BACK
The @realDonaldTrump & @GOP campaign theme of sending migrants back has now morphed into sending US citizens back. Dems are campaigning on health care & anti-corruption. Our #ForThePeople agenda crushed it in 2018 & will do so again in 2020. Join us. #ThursdayMotivation
"Because [Commerce Sec'y Wilbur Ross] tends to fall asleep in meetings, they try not to put him in a position where that could happen," said a former outside adviser. "There's a small window where he's able to focus and pay attention and not fall asleep." https://politi.co/2YagSWJ
Troubling listening to Trump Oval Office news conference with Pakistani PM. He baldly states that we have analyzed and considered using nuclear weapons to kill millions of people in Afghanistan as a solution to the conflict. WHAT IS TRUMP THINKING?
.@realDonaldTrump has not installed a single mile of new wall in a previously fenceless part of the US-Mexico border in since Trump took office. The focus thus far has been on replacing old sections of wall instead. https://washex.am/32GEKor
I don’t believe the four Congresswomen are capable of loving our Country. They should apologize to America (and Israel) for the horrible (hateful) things they have said. They are destroying the Democrat Party, but are weak & insecure people who can never destroy our great Nation!
Hey @realDonaldTrump: I'm an immigrant who served on active duty. You avoided military service. Stop telling minorities that we don't love our Country because we disagree with you. Stop telling immigrants to leave or go back from where we came. You are tearing our Country apart.
"We don't need anything dramatic from Robert Mueller," said Rep. Ted Lieu, a member of the House Judiciary Cmte. who favors impeachment. "We just need him to highlight the main parts of his report because it's such a damning report — and then we win."
Dear @RepLizCheney: I'm an immigrant. We disagree on policy. But I would never tell you to go back from where you came. When people tell me to leave America or go back to China, it's based on race. If I was white, I would not get that insult. Happy to discuss on the House Floor.
The Washington Post Story, about my speech in North Carolina and tweet, with its phony sources who do not exist, is Fake News. The only thing people were talking about is the record setting crowd and the tremendous enthusiasm, far greater than the Democrats. You’ll see in 2020!
So @realDonaldTrump now wants us to forget his tweets & what the videos showed about his North Carolina rally. We will not forget. "The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." - Orwell, 1984 #SundayThoughts
Trump says if you don’t love America, leave it. He’s been bashing the U.S. for years.
Hey @POTUS: I'm an immigrant who served on active duty. My parents were born in China. Your grandfather was born in Germany. I have no more connection to China than you do to Germany. Stop telling immigrants to "leave" or "go back." We are all Americans. #SaturdayThoughts
New poll shows Trump losing Georgia and North Carolina in 2020 https://ift.tt/32Cnf8X
What happens when @realDonaldTrump doubles down on bigotry? He scares independents & moderate Rs, and energizes the Dem base. Dems won in 2018 & will do so again in 2020. Our focus on health care & anti-corruption resonates better than sending immigrants back. #SaturdayThoughts
Dear @GOPLeader: I'm an immigrant who served on active duty. We disagree about universal health care, raising the minimum wage & campaign finance reform. But I would never tell you to leave America. So don't you ever dare to tell me or any other immigrant to leave our country. https://twitter.com/thehill/status/1151918305763983360 …
The notion that a citizen who disagrees with the president “does not like this country” and therefore should leave is literally antithetical to the democratic principles on which this country was founded.
Dear @GOPLeader: I'm an immigrant who served on active duty. We disagree about universal health care, raising the minimum wage & campaign finance reform. But I would never tell you to leave America. So don't you ever dare to tell me or any other immigrant to leave our country.
Rep. Tom Emmer: "There's not a racist bone in this president's body. What he was trying to say he said wrong. What he was trying to say is that if you don't appreciate this country you don't have to be here." http://hill.cm/FHzVKgN
Dear @RepTomEmmer: That's not what @realDonaldTrump said in his tweets. @POTUS explicitly tied non-white US citizens to foreign countries and told them to "go back" to those countries. That's why it's racist. Just like when people tell me to go back to China. Get it?
Something I have learned: If you are a Republican nominee for President – or President – you will be accused of being a racist. John Lewis compared John McCain’s campaign to being like that of George Wallace. It comes with the territory unfortunately.
Something I have learned: The current Republican @POTUS used the racist trope of telling US citizens to "go back" from where they came. @realDonaldTrump then did a rally where people chanted "send her back" at least 9 or 10 times. It comes with the territory unfortunately.
